And honestly, it's a very legitimate question.
A watch can be "in-house" or... well, not.
Bogneri falls into the second category.
Is that due to necessity?
Perhaps.
But the real answer is that it is a deliberate choice—one that I believe is ultimately the better choice. Let me explain.
The term "in-house" has become one of the most powerful marketing expressions in modern watchmaking. The reality, however, is that there are no manufacturers in the world that truly produce every single component under one roof, regardless of what some brands may like their customers to believe.
I won't get into the level of watchmaking ignorance required to assume that every screw, spring, case, dial, hand, crystal, and movement component is manufactured within the same building. Nor will I comment on the level of honesty behind some of those marketing narratives.
At Bogneri, things are different.
Remember, we are the underdog.
One of the advantages of being the underdog is that we don't have a legacy to protect or a narrative to maintain. We can simply tell things exactly as they are.
